Teaching English Methods Reflective Journal Entry #8



Some of the biggest issues with grading and assessment are that they are an undue stressor on students, they take up too much class time, they are unfair to certain students, and they are an inaccurate reflection of a student's learning. How might you overcome these obstacles in your own forms of grading assessment?

     In order to provide my students with a fair and more accurate reflection of their learning. I will provide them with a variety of forms of assessment meeting the variety of ways students perform toward their strengths. Our text provides a multiple of different assessments to achieve this goal; journal entries, video-book reviews, multiple choice, essay, discussion, etc. Each of these with attributing to students strengths while increasing their weaknesses.
